Energy bars are a convenient as a snack, but often full of added sugar and other artificial ingredients. This is a healthy recipe for nut free homemade energy bites:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp sunflower butter
- 2 tbsp coconut butter (we used a dark chocolate sea salt flavor)
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- ½ cup of pitted dates
- 1 square of raw cacao butter
- 2 squares of dark chocolate (70% or more)
Preparation:
Blend in blender or food processer the 2 squares of dark chocolate until a crumb-like consistence. Set aside in small bowl.
Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. With hands, roll bite-sized pieces and dip in shaved dark chocolate crumbs. Place on parchment or wax-paper lined cookie sheet and freeze for 2+ hours and serve.
